About the ENR34

The ENR34 is the four-wheel-drive version of the R34 Skyline, built alongside the ER34 but with ATTESA 4WD instead of rear-wheel drive. The RB25DE engine is the same block family as the RB26DETT (just one cylinder pair less and 100cc smaller per pair), but detuned for fuel economy and emissions. ~190hp at the crank, paired with a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual.

Almost all ENR34s were sold new in Japan. The 4WD system made these the only "real-weather" R34 — and the only R34 where the wagon body style (or hardtop/estate variant) is sometimes discussed in enthusiast circles, though the source registry documents sedan and coupe only.

Highlights & Why It Matters

The ENR34 is the answer to "what if Nissan made a 4WD R34 that could go anywhere?" It's also the rarest R34 Skyline variant, period. Only 3,408 of them, and most of those are sedans — the actual coupe variants are even scarcer.

Total Production

3,408 cars across 5 years. That's an average of 680/year. The BNR34 GT-R did that in two months. Most people don't even know the ENR34 exists.

Rarest ENR34

25GT FOUR (Series 2) coupe — 76 cars only. Late-production coupe body, Series 2 chassis. The hardest ENR34 to find and the most collectible trim in the chassis family.

RB25DE Engine

2.5L naturally aspirated inline-6. ~190hp stock. Same RB engine family as the RB26DETT, but two cylinders smaller and naturally aspirated. Tuners often swap in the turbo RB25DET or the full RB26DETT for real power.

ATTESA 4WD

Same ATTESA system family as the GT-R, but the non-GT-R tuning. Rear-bias most of the time, full 4WD under slip. Makes the ENR34 the only all-weather R34.

Silver Dominance

Three silver tones — KR4 Sonic Silver, KV2 Athlete Silver, and QX1 Pearl White TriCoat — together account for 57.5% of ENR34 production. If you want to stand out, look for the rare AR2 Active Red (87 cars) or QM1 Crystal White (43 cars).

The Rarest R34

At 3,408 units, the ENR34 is the rarest of the R34 chassis codes. BNR34 did 11,577. ER34 did 37,339. HR34 did 14,938. If you want a rare R34 that's not just an expensive GT-R, the ENR34 is the answer.

Monthly Production

ENR34 production was steady and modest — averaging ~57 cars/month over the 5-year run. Peak months were 2001-01 and 2002-01, both around 110 units. Production tapered off in late 2002 as the R34 was winding down.

Source: archived R34 registry data (ENR34 VIN table snapshot), filtered for ENR34-only monthly production. Note: this is an approximation of monthly production — the source data aggregates range blocks and may combine variants within months. The total of 3,408 cars across the 53 months shown is consistent with the documented range count.

Data source & verification: ENR34 totals, variants, and color data in this page are sourced from the archived public R34 registry data (ENR34 VIN table snapshot, Jan 2018, compiled from JDM dealer records, auction sheets, and community submissions). The OverRevving VIN registry holds 3,408 individual ENR34 VINs spanning the full production run. Note: The archived R34 registry data focused primarily on the BNR34 GT-R chassis; the ENR34 variant and color breakdown on this page is sourced from the ENR34-specific snapshot of the same registry. The 25-unit delta between variant sum (3,383) and total (3,408) likely represents pre-production VINs or special-order vehicles. Cross-verification report (BNR34): VERIFICATION-2026-06-08.
